Madhuban

Type - Artwork
Size - 62in x 38in
Materials - Veneer, Threads, Beads, Sequins, Paint

This artwork captures the divine union of Radha and Krishna within the sacred groves of Madhuban.

This symbolises the Atman - Radha (individual soul) finding its way back to the Paramatman - Krishna (supreme consciousness). Krishna’s flute is the “Call of the Infinite”, a melody that draws all living beings -

represented here by the holy cow,the graceful peacock, and the silent deer - into a state of pure, selfless devotion (Bhakti). Madhuban was not merely a forest, it was a sacred witness to Radha & Krishna’s eternal bond. Their love here was not bound by the ordinary world - it was pure, spiritual, and timeless.

The physical layers of the artwork serve as a metaphor for the layers of the human consciousness, as one looks deeper into the physical carvings, they are encouraged to look deeper into their own spiritual connection. Even today, Madhuban is believed to hold their presence, as if the forest still whispers the stories of their divine love to those who listen with faith.
